Assumption University

18 students are spending the fall semester abroad at Assumption College's Rome Campus where the city and country of Italy become a living classroom. Established in 2013, Assumption's Rome Campus offers students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the culture and history of the region. The unique courses, taught by Assumption faculty, take full advantage of all that the city - and country - has to offer.

Recognizing outstanding student academic achievement, Assumption College has named 549 students to the undergraduate Dean's List for the fall 2014 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester.

Assumption College's 98th Commencement ceremony was held on May 16 on the campus's H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 455 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 195 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 41 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

Assumption College honored 72 students with awards for academic excellence on April 20 at the College's 31st Annual Honors Convocation. Awards ranged from departmental honors to special subject-specific recognitions, to Augustine Scholarships, the College's highest academic honor.

Assumption College honored 20 members of the class of 2015 on May 16 with the College's prestigious Crown and Shield Awards. The award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves throughout their four years at the College in the areas of leadership and community service.

75 students presented the results of long-term academic projects at Assumption College's recent Undergraduate Symposium on April 20-21. The Undergraduate Symposium is a celebration of student research and creative work in the arts, humanities, and sciences.

Assumption College's Department of Art, Music and Theatre proudly presents the Tony award-winning musical "Fiddler on the Roof," its 7th annual spring production at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts.

11 Assumption College students collaborated with faculty on innovative scientific research over the summer break. Through this experience, the students discovered how they can apply their scientific skills to make a difference in society--and take their place as the next generation of scholars and scientists.

Assumption College's 97th Commencement ceremony was held on May 17 on the campus's H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 463 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 217 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 35 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

16 students presented their research at Assumption College's 5th annual Graduate Symposium on April 24. Presentation topics ranged from business to counseling psychology to rehabilitation counseling to school counseling to special education.

17 members of Assumption's class of 2014 were honored with the prestigious Crown and Shield Award. This award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves throughout their four years at Assumption in the areas of leadership and service. The recipients of these awards have protected (shield) and furthered (crown) the interests of the student body and Assumption College in various areas of leadership and community service. They were nominated by faculty, staff and administration.

This year, over 80 students presented their work at Assumption College's 20th annual Undergraduate Symposium. The Symposium is a celebration of student research and creative works that provides the campus community with an opportunity to gain a greater appreciation of the individual and collective, intellectual accomplishments of the College's faculty and students from all disciplines, including the humanities, fine arts, biological sciences, physical sciences and social sciences.
