Broadway returns to Worcester when Assumption College presents a student-run production of the 2012 Broadway revival of Godspell. Nearly three dozen students are involved in the production, which will take place on February 28 and 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the state-of-the-art Jeanne Y. Curtis Performance Hall on campus.

Assumption College's Department of Art, Music and Theatre will present a concert-staged performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from April 20-22. The performance, which will feature the College's Chorale and student actors performing lead roles, will be presented in the College's new state-of-the-art 400-seat Jeanne Y. Curtis Performance Hall of the Tsotsis Family Academic Center.

Assumption College's Department of Art, Music and Theatre will present the Tony Award-winning musical The Music Man, the College's ninth annual spring production held at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, on April 21-23, featuring Assumption students, alumni, and members of the community.

From May 9-16, the Assumption College Chorale ensemble traveled to Prague, Vienna and Salzburg to perform in historic churches and cathedrals and learn about the history of European politics and art. During the trip, students had the opportunity to sing during High Mass at the Bergheim Parish Church in Salzburg; performed a recital at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna; held an impromptu performance at the Melk Abbey in Melk; and sang at the Church of Our Lady in Prague. The group also enjoyed guided tours of each city. "We teach a great deal of political history and art history during these trips," Prof. Michelle Graveline, Ph.D, the Chorale's director, said, "The students get an educational experience they won't soon forget," she said.

The Assumption College's Department of Art, Music and Theatre will present the Tony Award-winning musical "The Pirates of Penzance, the College's 8th annual spring production, at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts on April 22-24 featuring Assumption students, alumni, and members of the community. "The Pirates of Penzance" is W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan's most popular comic opera. Set during the reign Queen Victoria, The Pirates of Penzance tells the story of Frederic, who was mistakenly indentured as an apprentice to a pirate. On a journey to discover his destiny, Frederic and his band of pirates find adventure, love, comedy and amazing music! Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 22 and 23 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 24. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for Assumption students and children.
