Woonsocket Student Britni Hagopian Presents Research at Assumption College's Undergraduate Symposium

Britni Hagopian of Woonsocket, RI, class of 2013, presented her project: "Identification of an Unknown Bacterium" at the Undergraduate Symposium at Assumption College on April 15-16. Britni worked with classmate Allison O'Malley and identified an unknown bacterium as a close relative of Bacillus Pumilius by using structural stains, metabolic tests, and molecular sequencing. Their poster won for Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The Undergraduate Symposium is a celebration of student research and creative work in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
