Michelle Byrnes, of Oakdale, Studying Abroad Internationally During Spring Semester

2018 Mar 16

Michelle Byrnes, of Oakdale, is spending the spring semester studying abroad. Byrnes, Class of 2019, is studying at University of Kent in United Kingdom.

"Studying abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with rewarding educational experiences and benefits," said Eloise Knowlton, dean of undergraduate studies at Assumption College. "In our increasingly global marketplace, it is important that our students are equipped with the broader perspective, pragmatic problem-solving skills, and ability to engage with others across differences, which are all foundations of an Assumption, and a liberal arts, education. Those students who study abroad return transformed and valuable members of their communities."

Assumption College offers students the flexibility to study abroad for an entire semester or to take short-term academic travel opportunities during school breaks. For example, students have spent the winter break in Greece and summer break in London. In addition to those students studying at Assumption's Campus in Rome, Italy, during the spring semester, Assumption students are also studying at partner colleges and universities in Australia, Austria, Ireland, France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
