Michelle Byrnes, of Oakdale, Earns Spot on Assumption College Women's Rowing Team

The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Michelle Byrnes, of Oakdale, has earned a spot on the 2018 Assumption College women's rowing team. Byrnes, Class of 2019, will compete during the Greyhounds' spring season, which begins this month.

Last season, the Greyhounds broke multiple school records, including the Varsity 8 boat's record 7:18.58 run at the Dad Vail Regatta last May. Coming off two strong performances in October of this year, Head Coach Aline Seekins is looking forward to the spring season. "Our team is off to a fast start and has much more depth than it has in recent years," said Seekins. "Our rowers work tirelessly both in the boat and in the classroom to become successful student athletes. It takes a special type of person with enormous commitment to come out ready to put in the hard work at practice and then in the classroom."
