Isobelle Ives, of Topsfield, Studying Abroad During Sping 2017 Semster

2017 Feb 7

Isobelle Ives, of Topsfield, is spending the spring semester abroad. Ives, Class of 2018, is studying in Spain.

"Studying abroad is one of the most influential and rewarding educational experiences a student can have, and has lifelong benefits," said Eloise Knowlton, dean of undergraduate studies at Assumption College. "Assumption's mission is to cultivate critical intelligence and thoughtful citizenship; both are achieved inside and outside of the classroom while studying abroad. A semester abroad widens students' cultural experiences and they return to Assumption with a stronger understanding of their role in the world. This type of cultural education is an essential part of a liberal arts education."

Assumption College offers students the flexibility to study abroad for an entire semester or to take short-term academic travel opportunities during school breaks. In addition to those students studying at Assumption's Campus in Rome, Italy, during the spring semester, Assumption students are also studying at partner colleges and universities in Australia, England, Ireland, France, New Zealand, Spain, and Washington, D.C.
