Courtney Barr, of Waltham , Earns Coveted Spot on the Assumption College Women's Swimming and Diving

The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Courtney Barr, of Waltham , has earned a coveted spot on the 2016-17 Assumption College Women's Swimming and Diving team. Barr, Class of 2018, is competing during the Greyhounds' season.

The team is led by seniors Erin Dougherty, Rachel Gagnon, McKenzie Johnson, Rachel Lanam, Tricia Lee, and Allie Wuerfl under Stuart Cromarty's ninth season as head coach. The Greyhounds have placed either first or second in every swim meet this season, including second at the WPI Gompei Invitational. The Hounds look forward to hopefully clinching their fourth consecutive Northeast-10 Confrence Championship title.

"The season has gone amazingly well with a number of key wins over nationally ranked colleges and a win at the Worcester City Championships," said Head Coach Stuart Cromarty. "Overall, this season our record is 26-5 and we are now preparing for the Northeast-10 in February. The team has worked very hard and we will attempt to repeat as NE10 champions, which would be four in a row. This is extremely difficult to do against top teams in our conference - I have no doubt each swimmer on the team will represent Assumption College proudly."
